Rebuilt vs. Remanufactured

Why buy a remanufactured engine rather than a rebuilt engine?

To put it simply, an engine re-builder takes a broken down used engine, fixes only the broken part(s) they absolutely have to replace and sells the result. As a customer it is a hit or miss situation. Engine remanufacturing is superior and different. Our remanufactured product is completely disassembled and re-qualified to same as new performance. Our product is completely remanufactured, part by part, just like it was when it was originally manufacutred. That means components are replaced that are not yet broken, to meet our quality guidelines. With state of the art technology and engineering, we offer an engine that is often better than the original production model with same as new performance.

REBUILT:

To recondition by cleaning, inspecting and replacing severely worn or broken parts. Serviceable parts are re-used within the manufacturer's acceptable wear limits.

REMANUFACTURED:

To make as close to new as possible. Wearable parts are automatically replaced. All core material is closely inspected and checked against original equipment specifications for correct dimensional tolerances. Replacement parts are brand new and made in the same production process as original equipment. State-of-the art manufacturing technology means state-of-the-art engines. If you want to talk about experience – our top remanufacturing partner has been remanufacturing engines since 1942, that’s over two million engines to date. This experience has meant working closely with the original equipment manufacturer's as they’ve pioneered advancements in engine remanufacturing technology. The result? The highest-quality powertrain products available anywhere.
